Bandwidth regulator for wireless and wired LAN?
I know some of the heavier duty enterprise cisco routers allow you to regulate the bandwidth to any device on the network but how about for SOHO routers(wireless and wired) ??
So if you had say 5 PCS on a wireless LAN with a standard wireless router and a 10mb/s line how would you regulate that each pc got 2mb/s OR better still, have an intellegent monitor so that the bandwidth was always equally split between the number of users on the LAN. Can you buy a hardware device to do this or is it done via software?
For example i went into an internet cafe once and downloaded a Linux disto ISO about 1 GIG via a P2P app and i brought every other user to a standstill, i know becuase all the other users were complaing to the manager that they couldn't access the net, and i could see the pcs next to me were all timing out until i stopped the download.
i haven't found a wireless router to which you can connect 5 pcs simultaniously. however, i have had a few routers which you can either connect 4 or more wired and regulate the bandwidth, you just have to read the specs. the last one i had w/ this capability was a netgear.
Review: Saddleback Leather Thin Briefcase (crunchgear?)
We covered Saddleback Leather's products last year and we thought it would be
fun to bring these guys back on stage one more time for an encore. As you can
see from the images, these are, in a sense, your grandpa's bags. They are made
of thick, old-world, heavily-stitched leather and feature heavy duty hardware,
