Thinking that solar power is limited to only those large panel systems installed on roofs is one of the biggest misconceptions people have. Au contra-ire! With new nanotechnology, solar power systems will soon be applied with the paint you use to improve your home. That particular technology is still a few years away but here is what you can do now?
If you like camping in your Open Range RV away from the crowds, then solar power is able to provide all your electrical needs. It is a simple process whether you are boon docking or sitting at a NASCAR race.
When camping in your Open Range RV, it is often difficult to keep your batteries charged when there are no electrical hook-ups. Unlike homes, Open Range RVs run on direct current electricity. Solar panels produce direct current instead of alternating current which makes them a perfect fit for RVs that use direct current. You can use the sun to power up your batteries directly. You will even be able to use your power converter to run your AC system if enough watts are being generated by your solar panels.
Portable solar systems consist of pop-up solar modules with four or five panels. They resemble small ladders essentially only with solar panels instead of steps. Set them up wherever the sun will hit them either on the roof of your RV or in an open area. Solar systems power your RV during the day by connecting directly to your batteries. Super easy and super clean.
The real advantage to solar RV systems has to do with noise. Using a generator to charge your batteries is the traditional way but that generator can be extremely loud. Even those so called quiet generators make a lot of noise. Solar systems make no noise at all. There is nothing but the sun shining on the panels with no moving parts. They are so quiet, you wont even realize they are there.
