Extortion Trial For Allison Cross In Michigan
Accused of trying to extort John Stamos, Allison Cross and Scott Sippola are on trial. After being asked to pay over a half-million dollars to prevent photos from being released, John Stamos contacted his lawyers. These photos are supposedly of John Stamos and Allison Cross at a party in 2004 in Orlando.

In Michigan, the trial Allison and Scott's accused extortion of John Stamos is on. While Allison Cross and John Stamos were corresponding via e-mail, Stamos was contacted by "Brian L" and "Jessica T," both threatening to sell compromising photos to the tabloids. The individuals who contacted Stamos asked for $ 680,000 in exchange for not releasing photos of Stamos at a party. Stamos asked Cross about the plot via email, and she indicated that she knew about it.
Stamos calls the FBI, foiling the extortion plot
At the point that John Stamos was asked to pay to prevent the supposedly compromising photos of him with Allison Cross from being released, he contacted his lawyers and also the FBI. Lawyers working for Stamos admit that 2004 Orlando escape photos exist. John Stamos' lawyers say the photos could be released as soon as the trial is over. The only place the relationship between Stamos and Cross could be mentioned was in opening statements – it was ruled as hands-off territory for the proper trial.
Legal repercussions for extortion
There are relatively heavy fines and punishments for extortion within the state of Michigan. If convicted, Allison Cross and Scott Sippola may face very heavy fines and possible jail time. Any time a person threatens injury to person or reputation and requests payment to prevent said injury, it can be considered extortion. Within the state of Michigan, if you're convicted of extortion, you can face a $ 10,000 fine and a jail sentence of up to 20 years.
